Community Economic Development Academy/Community Economic Development Institute (CEDA/CEDI)
Funded by the Annie E. Casey Foundation and taught by Georgia Tech and University of GA, CEDA/CEDI were unique programs to build community capacity by training residents in economic development concepts, tools, techniques and analysis.

DeKalb Economic Academy for Neighborhood Stabilization (DEANS)
For a county that had been adversely impacted by the housing crisis, BQC implemented DEANS - an 8 week economic training program for residents of DeKalb County GA. Brought in experts from GA Dept for Economic Development, GA Power, City of Atlanta, DeKalb Office of Economic Development and others.


Metro Atlanta Equity Atlas (MAEA)
 Authored chapter on Economic Development for the Metro Atlanta Equity Atlas (MAEA), a comprehensive mapping project which utilizes geographic information systems (GIS), data and narrative to tell the story of spatial justice and equity trends in Metro Atlanta.  .

Community Development

Habitat for Humanity International
Developed a model of community engagement for Habitat's Neighborhood Revitalization Initiative (NRI) that was adopted for use by their affiliates nationwide.

Community Foundation for Greater Atlanta
Coach and mentor community groups in the metro Atlanta region to help build organizational capacity, board development, fundraising and leadership.

DeKalb County Community-Economic Development Training Program

Co-hosted DeKalb County's only neighborhood capacity building program teaching basic and advanced levels of community and economic development. Residents were highly satisfied rating the workshops an average 4.65 out of 5 over 14 weeks.

Research and Evaluation

Atlanta Regional Commission Homeland Security and Recovery Group (Urban Area Security Initiative)
Conducted evaluation of the Immersion program, an innovative, proactive, inter-faith approach to prevent bias motivated confrontations with law enforcement. 

Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE)
Researched and wrote, "Growing the Future: the Case for Economic Inclusion in Metro Atlanta" for Partnership for Southern Equity (PSE), a study on economic inclusion and equity in metro Atlanta.

Corporation for National Community Service (CNCS)
As a regular Evaluation Peer Reviewer for CNCS, the largest grantmaker supporting service and volunteering in the U.S. , ratings are given for evaluation design, methodology, validity and strength of evidence.

Journal of Planning Literature
An author of the peer reviewed article, "Why New Cities Form: An Examination into Municipal Incorporation in the United States 1950-2010."  An analysis of the historical literature to construct a comprehensive classification system of theories that explain municipal incorporation.
